Karen Santangelo

President, Board Member  2009~ present

Karen teaches at Clearwater Fundamental Middle School.  She joined PAEA in 2008 and served as one of our Middle School Representatives.  Karen received her B.F.A. degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio, majoring in Graphic Design and Photography.  She currently received her Masters in Ed. Leadership in September 2015! 

Lindsay Waguespack
President Elect, Board Member 2013 ~ present
Lindsay comes to PAEA with three years experience as an art educator. She is the Art Teacher at Ozona Elementary. Currently she is serving as the Youth Art Month coordinator for PAEA. She has a B.A. in Art History from the University of Central Florida and an M.A. in Art Education from the University of Florida. Lindsay also teaches at the Dunedin Fine Art Center throughout the year. She has previously worked as the Exhibitions Assistant at the Orlando Museum of Art and  Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida.

Wendy Bruce

Past President, Board Member 2009 ~ present

Wendy is an artist who lives in Clearwater and teaches Art at Ponce de Leon Elementary.  She graduated from Virginia Commonweath University in 1985 and later completed a master's degree in Art Education and second master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies:  Fibers and Painting.  She is National Board Certified and was a recipient of a National Art Education Foundation grant in 2007.  She currently has a studio in her home where she creates thread drawings and encaustic paintings.

Britt Bourgholtzer
Treasurer, Board Member 2014 ~ present

Britt Rabeneck is an artist and art teacher at Eisenhower Elementary School who has taught both in the state of Illinois and in Florida. Her teaching experiences include of a wide range of high school, middle school and elementary in both Exceptional Education (EBD) and general education. She received a BS from Northern Illinois University in Art education in 2001. In  2008, she earned a Master of Education in Administration and Leadership at National Louis University.

Kerry Marquis

Secretary, Board Member 2014 ~ present
Kerry is an art teacher and artist living in Clearwater and teaching art at Ridgecrest Elementary in Largo.  She graduated from the University of Georgia with a BFA in Drawing and Painting and later completed a master's degree in Art Education and second master's degree in Education Media Design and Technology.
Adam Crump
Middle School Representative, Board member 2015-present
Adam Crump entered the world of professional graphic arts after earning his bachelor’s degree from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. He was Caputo Creative's  master of visual effects and motion graphics, as well as an accomplished editor. His unique approach and boundless creativity has earned him industry accolades and a Telly Award. Through numerous projects including infomercials, corporate training videos, and marketing pieces, Adam has gained tremendous experience with the industry’s most important tools (Photoshop,Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Fireworks, etc.). It wasn't until his kindergartner daughter asked if he could become his art teacher did her pursue the new world of teaching.  Now teaching is teaching his third year, and is currently at Meadowlawn Middle School.

Latonya Hicks
High School Representative/Artists Workshop. Board member 2015-present.

Latonya after beginning her career as a Science teacher has spent the last 8 years teaching art.  She is a Largo transplant artist originally from Jacksonville, FL who currently teaches art at Largo High School.  Latonya is currently teaching 2D, IB,  advanced placement, Eurhythmics and is the co-sponsor for the Largo High School National Art Honor Society.  After graduating from Florida State University with her BFA in 2001 she continued on to earn her master’s degree in Mixed media from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University.  Specializing in 2D and 3D mixed media works, her exhibition experience is extensive and her repertoire includes public as well as private art. 

Emily Lees
Elementary Representative/Donations. Board member 2015- present.
Emily is currently the art teacher at Orange Grove Elementary  and has been an elementary art teacher in Pinellas County since 2007.  Emily received a BFA with a concentration in painting and drawing as well as BAE from The Ohio State University.   She later received an MFA from Boston University with a concentration in art education, bookmaking and printmaking.

PAEA Committees:

Advocacy:  Assist in the production and distribution of materials promoting the importance of Art Education. Advocacy is of the utmost importance for Art Education RIGHT NOW!

Exhibitions:  Help with setting up/taking down annual PAEA Member show, recruiting venue space, finalizing details of shows.

Membership:  Assist with retaining and recruiting overall membership. Be a voice for members.

Hospitality:  Assist Chair with planning of events and hospitality needs at special events

Artists Workshops:  Help with planning and promoting inspiring,  creative experiences!

Non-Profit Business Committee:   Assists with maintaining not-for-profit annual filings

Communications:  Works with Chair to soliciting articles and news from members for the PAEA News quarterly publication. Occasionally assist with article writing, attending events to report about. Maintains presence in online communities such as Facebook, Twitter and webpage

Fundraising:  Helps with fundraising efforts.

Awards and Recognitions:  Assists with presenting awards at special events.
