Karen Santangelo

President, Board Member  2009- present

Karen teaches at Clearwater Fundamental Middle School.  She joined PAEA in 2008 and served as one of our Middle School Representatives.  Karen received her B.F.A. degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio, majoring in Graphic Design and Photography.  She currently received her Masters in Ed. Leadership in September 2015!

What is your favorite food?
Any and all types of cheese 🧀 
Are you a Dog or a Cat person?
I’m a cat person. I have two cats, Nugget and Crumble. ❤️🐈🐈
When did you realize you wanted to be an art teacher?
I’ve always known I wanted to be an art teacher. When I was in Kindergarten I used to play school and I HAD to be the Art Teacher... I never wanted to play “House”, and if everyone wanted to play “House” - I insisted on being the Art Teacher that they sent their kids to.

Lauren Moon

Laura Ermis

Elementary Representative/T-Shirts/Teacher-Artist Exhibit/Board Member 2018-present

Laura teaches at Douglas L. Jamerson Jr., Elementary. She joined PAEA in 2018 and serves as one of our Elementary Representatives, along with our T-Shirt organizer plus, manages our annual teacher-artist exhibit. Laura received her B.F.A. degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg Florida, majoring in Graphic Design and Ceramics.  She is currently obsessed with fiber arts and spends any time she has exploring this media.




Kerry Marquis

Secretary, Board Member 2014 ~ present
Kerry is an art teacher and artist living in Clearwater and teaching art at Ridgecrest Elementary in Largo.  She graduated from the University of Georgia with a BFA in Drawing and Painting and later completed a master's degree in Art Education and second master's degree in Education Media Design and Technology.
Julianna Guccione
Middle School Representative, Board member 2017-present
Julianna is in charge of the website and is trying to figure out how to work it.

What is your favorite food?

Tacos!

What is your favorite art style and why?

Impressionism, because I like the use of color and the study of how light affects objects.

Are you a cat or dog person? A DOG PERSON - all the way!



Emily Lees
Elementary Representative/Donations. Board member 2015- present.


PAEA Committees:

Advocacy:  Assist in the production and distribution of materials promoting the importance of Art Education. Advocacy is of the utmost importance for Art Education RIGHT NOW!

Exhibitions:  Help with setting up/taking down annual PAEA Member show, recruiting venue space, finalizing details of shows.

Membership:  Assist with retaining and recruiting overall membership. Be a voice for members.

Hospitality:  Assist Chair with planning of events and hospitality needs at special events

Artists Workshops:  Help with planning and promoting inspiring,  creative experiences!

Non-Profit Business Committee:   Assists with maintaining not-for-profit annual filings

Communications:  Works with Chair to soliciting articles and news from members for the PAEA News quarterly publication. Occasionally assist with article writing, attending events to report about. Maintains presence in online communities such as Facebook, Twitter and webpage

Fundraising:  Helps with fundraising efforts.

Awards and Recognitions:  Assists with presenting awards at special events.
